FAQs
Service questions, answered
- What's the difference between paver sealing and paver cleaning?
- Paver cleaning removes dirt, weeds, mold, and stains from the surface. Paver sealing protects the cleaned pavers long-term with a commercial-grade sealer that locks in joint sand and restores color. Atlantic Exteriors includes professional cleaning and prep as part of every sealing project.
- Can old, faded pavers be restored without replacement?
- Yes, most faded pavers can be restored by deep cleaning, replacing joint sand, and applying a wet-look or natural-look sealer. The wet-look finish dramatically richens color and makes pavers look brand new. We'll show you a small test area before committing to the whole project.
- Do I need paver repair before sealing?
- If pavers have sunk, lifted, or shifted, those areas should be reset and re-sanded first so the sealer has a stable surface. Atlantic Exteriors handles paver repair and sealing as one combined project when needed, so you don't have to coordinate two contractors.
- Is pool deck sealing slippery?
- Atlantic Exteriors can add a slip-resistant, non-skid additive to the sealer if it's called for, just let Derek know on the inspection. We work with products formulated for travertine, brick, and concrete pool deck pavers in saltwater and chlorine environments.
- How long does paver sealing take?
- A typical Brevard County driveway sealing takes 1 to 2 days: prep, cleaning, and paver joint sand replacement, followed by one or two coats of sealer based on what the pavers actually need with proper cure time. Larger pool decks and patios may take 3 days. We don't rush the prep just to get out faster.
- Will paver sealer prevent weeds in the joints?
- Sealer can help prevent weed growth. Atlantic Exteriors pre-treats weeds before cleaning, then handles paver joint sand replacement so the joints are fresh and stable before the sealer goes down. It's one of the better tools you have against weeds, no sealer makes them disappear forever.
